787 Flyover

Quick, early post this week, blog fans.  Astute readers will note that I don't tend to mention work here on the blog.  However, today we had a celebratory event of sorts:  British Airways flew one of their 787 Dreamliners, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, over our facility in Derby.   BA is entering into service with the 787 tomorrow.

I've toiled away for 2+ years on the Trent 1000 so it's nice to have a little perk, especially on a nice day.  A previous flyover (link) was hidden by the clouds so I didn't get to see anything then.

Despite the weather, I still couldn't do this one right.  I went in after 2 passes and evidently the 3rd pass was the lowest/closest.  Oh well.

Video link here.

Enjoy.
